Appearance: Pours a clear amber verging on burnt orange; the one finger head holds relatively well, leaving splashes of lacing behind
Smell: The Sangiovese puncheon punches through on the aromatics, delivering an earthy red wine character; some funk on the nose, as well
Taste: Vinous and earthy red wine flavors dominate the front with some tannins and a slight bitterness emerging through the mid-palate; hints of leathery funk and melon in the finish
Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation
Overall: A very nice hybrid beer/wine; the red wine barrel works really well here
