I must be one hell of an asshole local to not have stopped by this place after all this time, but I'm finally here. It's actually much nicer inside than I'd imagined, with plenty of space leading up to the solid, hardwood top bar surrounded by a few screens playing the sport du jour. The space was also decked out for Oktoberfest and looked rather festive.
The taplist is unsurprisingly heavy on classic, unadulterated styles, and what they execute is actually fairly spot on and traditional. I didn't have anything that was off-putting, and the one brew that actually did go off books--a peanut butter hefe--was actually surprisingly tasty.
The vibe is more like a bier hall than a bar, with loads of table seating as opposed to bar space, which makes it seem like a good spot to host a party. Service was attentive and helpful while giving us room as we worked on our pints. It was a nice stop.
