first legend beer and first eisbock I have tried. found this at the famous capital ale house in richmond for $3.50. definitely the first beer to ever sting my tongue to the point of an allergic reaction. dark brown, tan head, full body. overwhelming malts, more than I have ever had before.

Appearance: Arrives at the bar with a dark cola brown color and a head that looks like a cup of espresso; decent lacing
Smell: Rum-soaked dark fruit
Taste: Rich dark fruit flavors of fig and prune up front; growing coffee and tobacco bitterness after the swallow complements the sweet flavors and keeps them in check
Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with lively carbonation
Drinkability: Nicely done example of a beer rarely brewed; dark fruity and coffee complexity with a nice balance between the sweet and bitter flavors
