On an old hometown main street that's cuter, quainter yet even more modern than I expected, this small brewpub also surprises with its more modern, well-organized and welcoming atmosphere.

Walking through its small streetside patio area brings you into, on this day, a quite bustling pub atmosphere, especially for a Wednesday. There are several short tops, some with a good many chairs, as well as a few oblong high tops. The wooden bar is both short and long, depending on your perspective. It's a long-L, really, beginning with the corner. Turning from there hits a few stools before the tap station, which essentially doubles as the ordering station for anyone seated at tables. This can become a little crowded, and since some people don't have personal boundaries, if you're not a people person you would do well to avoid the seat on either side of the taps.

Those taps host a wide variety of styles, around 10-12 beers, and probably more depending on the brew schedule. Every single one of those beers is of a quality higher than anyone either seems to realize or cares to share by word of mouth, because this was a very enjoyable visit on the beer front. In fact, the night before this visit, I had an Imperial Head Hunter for the first time, and I found a pint of their imperial IPA River Styx Monster to be even better, which is saying a whole hell of a lot.

The food menu largely consists of pizza, chips and pretzels, and while they're simple, they can really hit the spot. WBC is very creative with their pizzas, which you can, if you're hungry, knock out two due to the cracker thinness of the crust. We got this month's special, the chili dog pizza, as well as a Mediterranean. We weren't able to finish, but were quite satisfied, especially with an unexpected trivia night that added to the fun, as well as bartenders who were easy going but also attentive or engaging at all the right times.

My first visit to this place but worth the 30 minute drive. It is rather small and quaint with about 15 seats at the bar and maybe 10 tables. They had a variety of styles from an Imperial Cream Ale to what he calls a Mole' Stout. Looks like they brew a lot of different small batches with no fear experimentation. They do have a food menu with the standard brewhouse stuff, pizza and appetizers. My server was outstanding with loads of info and attention. It helped that the brew master was there to add background info on the beers.
