Tucked away near a small lake, nice looking beer garden, local vibe. Nice layout, friendly staff. Plenty of selection, beers were decent. Prices of t-shirts maybe a bit high. Has that roadhouse look, very clean interior. Worth the trip.

This brewery has been open for 9 months, but only recently showed up in a list of Michigan breweries. I didn't know what to expect from a brewery that is located in a tiny country setting, but my wife and I put them on our list to visit as part of a Sunday drive. We were very pleasantly surprised at what we found.

The place is along a rural country road in an area with 7-8 small lakes, thus it is a vacation community. The brewery is located in a light-industrial style of building with a small amount of parking at the front. It was busier than what we expected for a wintry Sunday, so the locals already know about this place. There is ample seating inside, plus a couple overhead doors open to a patio area so that more seating can be available during the busy vacation season. Several TVs are hanging on the walls.

We sat at the bar and ordered two 4-beer sampler flights. There are 18 taps, and 16 beers were available with a nice spread of styles. Most were standard beer styles (including two shandies), but a couple of Belgians, a farmhouse, a hefe, an altbier, and a Berliner Weiss gives the beer menu an international scope. Each of the beers is brewed very well to style so that we graded all of them as B, B+ or a B- grade. That was exciting for not knowing what to expect before coming.

Our Sunday afternoon dinner was a part of this trip, so we ordered sandwiches to accompany the beers. Soups, salads, shareables and sandwiches are the offerings. (A link to the menu is on the website.) We enjoyed the food just as much as the beers, so kudos to the brewers and the kitchen here.

Growlers, howlers and 16-oz. crowlers are available for to-go. Several wines are also offered. One of the brewers came over to chat with us, so that was a nice 'plus' to our visit. If this brewery were closer to home, we'd be here often, but we will make it a point to visit again when we are in the area.
