Stopped in this location 3-4 times over the last couple years. The beer is good, the music is good (hard rock when I've been), the outdoor seating is expansive and nice, like being in the woods. The conversion of the building from an old state police HQ is interesting. The service is OK, but they don't post all their prices, and when you ask the bar staff and manager they may not know. I got a first tier growler fill, bringing my own growler. At the two nearest breweries (within ten miles) the prices are $15 and $12. I asked how much mine would be? Haymarket's staff answer: "It depends." Haymarket then charged me $20.25. I asked the "manager" and she said that was the correct price. Later when I emailed the company, the owner made very little effort to correct the problem. He said the price was $18. He could not explain the overcharge. I asked why not list the prices? He did not comment. He actually said his staff is "young" and I need to be forgiving because they make mistakes. (!!) He said he would give me my $2.25 back but did not explain how I would get my refund. I asked twice how I would get my refund, and he did not comment. He then said I was an "unforgiving jerk" for not being happy with his mistake and poor effort to make me happy after the fact. *How about a free beer next visit?* That would have taken care of it, but not this owner. I guess they take your money and then don't care what happens next. They are not really focused on their customers or training their staff I guess. I will not go back. If you go, you may very likely enjoy it, but be warned about the products they refuse to list prices for: ASK how much your price is and make sure they tell you before you order anything. If they had said $20.25 for a growler refill I would have simply walked out. The beer is OK, not that good to pay massive prices.

Nice stop on the west side of Michigan, in a reclaimed police post. Modern interior with Biergarten style tables and benches. A beautiful bar with several different tap selections and a small but mixed food menu of sandwiches, salads, and pizzas, with a locavore vibe. Beers were all approachable and the food was pretty solid. Gift shop with to-go cans that were on sale for cheap. Would definitely stop again, and an easy stop for people heading to other nearby breweries Transient, Tapistry, or Greenbush.

The minute we walked in the vibe was for very young crowd. Even on a Sunday evening the modern music was pounding our ears. We sat down and severs were very indifferent and not service friendly. Every one of the many of the staff looked barley 21. I have been to hundreds of places and never felt so ignored, not even busy. The beer was decent though.

Not sure if this is a brewery or a daycare. Children outnumbered beer drinking adults 2:1 on a holiday evening. Funneling everyone to one register to order is counter productive. Good thing they include gratuity for their crappy service, otherwise nobody would tip. Wont be returning

My wife and I stopped here to try the beers of this recently-opened brewery. It is situated in a wooded setting along a 4-lane county highway just north of Bridgman. Two grain silos have been erected on one side, and a fenced patio is visible on the other side. There is a large, deep interior on one side of the taproom that contained many long tables, and the bar area on the left side. The patio is visible just outside the windows on the south side of the building.
We arrived just after opening for this Saturday and the place was not yet busy. We chose to sit at the bar, and ordered a sampler flight of 7 of the 11 beers that were available. Each was brewed very well to their respective style, and we ended up giving them an overall grade of a B. The notables were Lucy's Tripel, the American Pale Ale, and the Belgian Imperial IPA. It is not normal for us to give scores that are consistent across the board, so 'Well Done, Haymarket.' Of a special note: each beer was described with the hops that were used in the brewing process, and that's a 'plus thing' for me to see that.
We did not order any food, although the menu looked appetizing and tempting. Mostly the choices are pizzas that are baked in a wood-fired oven, 3-4 deli sandwiches and a salad. If this place was not so far from home, I'd be here often.
