what impressed me most about this beer, and in fact all of the beer here at zuni street, was that it wasnt all that interesting, but it is awfully well made. thats the case with this ipa, which i reckon they are sort of fashioning as a flagship, and why not? its real well done. nice clarity, i like seeing a clear bright golden ipa these days amidst all the messy stuff from back east. white head and spiderweb lacing, pretty brew. aroma of woody wet pine and light caramel malt, almost in equal proportions, this is amazingly well balanced. the flavor shows a little oily hop bitterness, a honey note, and more fresh pine, really pretty substantial, and the hops have a very colorado vibe to me, maybe some centennial or simcoe, among some perhaps more fruity varietals as well, but its tough to even want to dissect such a complete whole. full medium body and relaxed carbonation, it drinks easy for what it is, and if you like a balanced and flavorful ipa without a ton of bitterness and a clean finish, this is definitely your horse. we enjoyed this one as much as any beer in the place!
