there is no wood involved here despite the name, but its an excellent ipa, featuring some wheat and oats in the mash and yielding a hazy but dry and drinkable fuller bodied ipa with a very bright citrusy hop complexion and more bitterness than i picked up in their staple zuni street ipa. it comes out creamy headed from the tap, much more lush and full bodied than the other one too. aroma is distinctly grapefruity, with some backing orange notes and some grassy bitter, all very fresh and sort of minimalist. it tastes smooth and pale cerealy on the front end, and the hops come in with a nice bitter citric punch on the back end, not overly dry hoppy and juicy, this still seems to be hopped more traditionally, and it sure finishes with some nice bitterness. the feel has a creaminess to it from the wheat and oats, and thats a great texture for these flavors. its also nice and bubbly and dry by the end, interesting enough to drink several of, and like all the beers in here, its very well made, especially for how new these guys are. i can see this one becoming quite popular, sort of an east meets west thing, i dig it.
