they have added a little spelt to this session belgian. i definitely look for a drier and funkier "table beer", but i liked this just fine as an easy drinking yeast and grain forward lighter brew. a little safe on the yeast, a lot of the beer in here is, but this is well rounded and more nuanced than their forgettable house saison. its not so light for a session type, being fairly cool on the grain side, and i definitely get a dry earthy spice from the spelt, and while i may not have been able to call that grain out without reading the menu first, i also am sure i would miss it if it werent in here. belgian yeast flavors and fruitiness abound, but it does taste a little cooler fermented than most, sort of easy going use of more intense ingredients, which i think is cool. maybe a little more filling and robust than i need my table beer to be when the world is perfect, but i thought this was a nice effort, and a beer i would order again in here. these guys are doing it right, lots of flavors and all very well done, it was a great new brewery visit, and this is worth a drink...
