Bottle No.#510 of 1080.A "Russian-American style lager"...huh?Label says a hybrid of RIS and American stout but lager in style.Pours from a 1 liter swivel top bottle into a snifter deep a deep dark chcolate brown with garnet hue,a large creamy deep beige head atop.,great color and creaminess to the head.Chocolate really stands out in the nose along with a hint of dark bread,mild fruity esters come into play as it sits more.Chocolate and molasses flavors with roasted coffee flavors playing a smaller role,not overly sweet at first but becomes a little sticky after awhile,has mineral-lager like quality to in the finish almost like a doppelbock.I guess it can be categorized as a big stout but again it has those lager "qualities,either way it's pretty damn good,it's a chore to get thru a liter with it's abv.
