Pours dark bronze with highlights of black walnut and is clear. A four-inch, frothy head slowly settles to a thick blanket leaving small patches of lace on a Simpli pint glass. Some fine sediment is visible in suspension as fine columns of carbonation proceed upwards.
The aroma is very simple, yet well done, with baker's chocolate and charred malt.
In my opinion, the bitterness is too high for this style. Coffee beans and deep charred malt lead to a strong, lengthy, and bitter finish. Light smokiness and astringency come out in the middle. Sweetness and maple syrup show up with warmth, yet only meekly.
This one has a light body and a watery texture. While alcohol is a bit high for the style, it is as expected from the label. Carbonation is modest and soft.
As an English Porter, this beer is okay but nothing special. It would probably be best served with a meal, and definitely improves with warmth.

Decent porter. Poured from bottle to cup. Nice creamy mocha head with little retention. Aromas of char and cocoa. Flavors are cocoa, and oats, and biscuit, some slight coffee. Very thin feel, watery.
