Had this guuy on top, and popured a hazy red, with little head retention and an ackward array of lacing.
The aromas was a combination of roasted malt, and crystal, however no hopsq really showed up.
The same was true on the taste, with a strange buttery texture being present.
The mouthfeel was strange and left a cloying sweetness afterwards. The beer's body was quite heavy although, relegating it outside the world of "sessionable".
As with most Irish Red Ales, as opposed to American, the malts are intended to overpower the hops, however, I do believe something else had also taken place...
The beer tasted down right oxidized. I would imagine a much more desirable beer on a different occasion without this issue.
Even more so, I would imagine that a proper display of this beer would go great wit this restaurant's wine cured appetizers or baked fowl.

Eye Candy: Transparent amber red. Light thin head that vanished quickly. No retention.
The Nose Knows: Touch of sweet honey, roasted malts, and vanilla.
Tongueland: Sweet caramel initially, roasted malt middle, finishes with smooth alcohol balanced with a hint of vanilla.
Bender Factor: Almost too easy to drink. The ABV stands out in this brew, but is not overpwering and lends character to it.
