This is my 1000th beer review.
This beer was poured from the tap at the Antigua Cerveceria near the iconic arch in Antigua, Guatemala. Poured into a tulip glass. The beer is a solid black color with a finger of frothy brown head. Classic look and color.
Smell is milk chocolate, light coffee, molasses. Some leather.
Taste is as smooth as expected. Sweet milk chocolate and mocha at first, then bittering into dark chocolate and eventually molasses. Whiskey undertones and a lingering heat in the finish.
Very smooth. Light carbonation keeps things from getting closing.
Overall, a worthy 1000th. This beer was had after a month in Guatemala. This is not a huge beer destination, but this stout can hang for sure. Recommended.
