I visited Synthesis Brewing a few weeks back when bumming around Budapest. It turns out it's in the former location of Legenda Sörfőzde, and is not too far away from their new location. The taproom is pretty darn small with just a couple tables "inside", and a big patio area that is almost totally covered/enclosed (I'm guessing this is a legacy of covid measures). They've got a dart board and some games; the whole vibe is very DIY and lived-in, like a buddy's garage or something.
The small brewery is on-site, although not visible from the taproom, and they've got 8 beers on tap plus bottles to go. Taps include two different cherry beers, a banana beer (!), chocolate porter, IPA, Belgian pale, and a dry-hopped pale. They've also got a small liquor selection, which seems pretty much de rigeur in Hungary.
The Banana Mama is interesting; it's basically candy banana. If you like banana runts this is the beer for you, although the "beer" character is a bit lost. The cherry beer I had had kind of an artificial sweetness to it that did not really work for me. I also grabbed some bottles to go, which were rather hit and miss. Overall, I think Synthesis has a little ways to go in upping their quality game.
The service is friendly, but it will help you to have a bit of Hungarian here.
