This 2019 version is 8.0%, poured from the 16.9 bottle to a snifter. Thick and oily, like 10w30 after 7500 miles! Very small head that recedes immediately. Black with brown along the glass as you swirl. Minimum lacing. Smell is dark chocolate, tobacco and coffee, with a hint of dark cherries. Taste is dark chocolate with a bitter finish. Chewy and oily feel.
Overall I appreciate the simplicity this no-nonsense stout offers, but find it lacking in appearance.
