Clear brownish red with a nice cap of foam in the wine glass, a beauty. Aroma of fruitcake and red wine. Tastes of toffee and dark roasted malt. It's sweet enough, even quite rich, but it's not unctuous or sticky.
Just bitter enough with a pleasant dry finish. Another brew that makes me say "if only more Barleywines were this good." A brewery I'd like to visit. From the 500 ml bottle purchased at City Beer Store in San Francisco.
