"86 out of 100"? Bullshit. This is one of the best IPA's I've ever had.
It's got a hazy lemon gummy bear color to it, and pours a nice firm 2 finger head. The nose is heavy grapefruit rinds, juicy orange, and lemon. Slight hop resins behind that. Flavor is extremely juicy, with lots of lemon and grapefruit rinds, with slight pine and woody notes. Malt is heavy on the biscuit. Feel is resinous, oh it's so resinous, with a spikey carbonation to keep it alive. Overall, one of the dankest, juiciest IPA's I've ever laid lips to. Highly recommended.

Pours yellow with a slight fog and a finger of white head on top. Good lacing left behind. Aroma is pine, resin, tropical hops. Flavor profile is pine, resin, and tropical hops with biscuit malts in the background. It packs a little bitter, west coast style punch, but with a soothing citrus edge. Mouth feel is medium-thin and crisp. Overall, a tasty DIPA with hop notes that hearken to both West and East Coast IPAs.

Thanks to TSF3535 for this 16 oz. can new to me - nice beer name, too.
The pour is all copper piping, no haze! Do they know what century this is! Nose holds a touch of orange, but is scarcely discernible from the air swirling around it.
Humanimal Stasis sounds better via description than oral ingestion. Rye is blanketed all over this beer, with more earthiness than spices, but just enough of the latter to keep it interesting. Middle brings mild bitterness, cantaloupe (that might be a first), green wood, chaff, too much sweet malt, with a finish of piney dankess that lingers like my wife’s family in the front door. After. Every. Gathering. Forever. Too heavy to come in a tallboy, but I’m going to wade through it, eventually.
Not good at all when cold, another beer that needs to sit & sweat for a while before drinking. Good beer.

Don't understand the high reviews here, this was pretty underwhelming. Extremely bitter finish with little flavor to speak of. IPA experiment gone bad. Expect better from Tired Hands/Half Acre.

A pint can dated 03/15/17 purchased at Half Acre in Chicago poured in a Half Acre chalice.
Look- Pours a slightly cloudy but brilliant dark gold leaving a thick finger of creamy white foam. It slowly recedes revealing some thin lacing.
Smell- Dank weed, passion fruit, pineapple, fresh rubber and floral esters.
Taste- Dank and juicy with passion fruit, grapefruit and floral notes. There's a healthy dose of resiny pine that pops in the finish.
Feel- Light but quite tingly on the palate with a pronounced bitter dry finish.
Overall- A flavor packed DIPA that drinks bigger than the 8% abv. Big and bold resiny hop taste that quickly switches from tropical/citrus to heavy pine. This is one that any hop head can truly appreciate!

Brewed by Heavy Gem Chicago, IL (aka Half Acre)
canned 3/15/17
a: golden copper, slightly opaque. One finger frothy, milky white head.
s: nice aroma of ripe melon and other tropical fruits (pineapple, tangerine)
t: in line with the aroma, a burst of melon and tropical notes followed by more pinier hop flavor toward the backend. Slight bitterness comes with the backend flavor.
m: carbonation seems spot on. Good amount of prickliness to it. Medium body. slightly oily but to its benefit.
o: Firstly, according to my can Heavy Gem is located in Chicago :) This detail aside, wow, this is a great IPA. It's slightly reminiscent of Half Acre's Navaja, which itself is a great IPA. Certainly lighter than Navaja which helps contribute to this beer's great drinkability. I could drink this IPA all the time. Unfortunately it seems the Heavy Gem collaborations will only be brewed once.
