Pours an opaque, dark yellow coloration with no head. Smells of fresh sea buckthorn and mango notes, with just a hint of rosemary also coming through. Taste is an excellent balance of vibrant, tart sea buckthorn and sweet mango, with just a hint of herbal rosemary coming through as well. Finishes with a light tartness and some sea buckthorn and mango lingering in the aftertaste. Thick, chewy mouthfeel with a medium body and light carbonation.
Selfmade really does these Smoothie Sours incredibly well, I can't say that I've had anything that comes remotely close to them from Europe. The fruity notes just feel so fresh and vibrant here, while they always manage to come up with really unique and interesting ingredients that are quite well-balanced as well. The thick, chewy mouthfeel, not unlike an actual Smoothie, really stands out the most though, while the ABV is not noticeable at all, with this remaining incredibly easy-drinking. I mean, sure, it does not have a lot in common with a beer at all anymore, but is still incredibly enjoyable for what it is.
