Poured from a can.
This beer pours pitch black. When held up to the light, nothing comes through. The head is tan colored and fairly thick at 3 fingers. The head looks somewhat frothy and fluffy. The retention is decent, and there's some lacing on the glass.
The aroma is very full of chocolate from the malts and the aroma seems a sweeter milk chocolate.
The taste does indeed have some chocolate in it, and some lactose as well, but not as much as the nose let on. The chocolate fades a bit on the back with a slight, yet pleasing bitterness. Very slight roasted coffee flavor also shows up in this beer.
Very creamy, and smooth feeling beer. Decent body for the lower ABV.
Quite tasty overall, and something I'm happy I picked up.

L: It is bright dark brown under a lacy 2" light tan cap with good retention.
S: The aromas are mild with oatmeal, nuts, a trace of chocolate and a hint of coffee
T: Mildly sweet oatmeal leads the charge supported by nuts, light chocolate and a touch of coffee. There is a light astringent note on the finish that dries things out slightly. Hop flavors and bitterness are medium low.
F: Very creamy, velvety, silky texture with a medium full body and medium carbonation.
O: A flavorful, very nutty, oaty stout that has an incredibly rich texture.

Devil's Cave pours a black color, with not much head. Sweet aroma, some hints of the lactose. Flavor is nice and creamy, with a sweet finish. Good body and feel. Overall, a nice drinking, nicely flavored stout.
