While dropping off CSA boxes our friends over at Featherstone Farms asked us if we wanted a bunch of fresh watermelon so naturally we said You Betcha! We then brewed a classic Gose adding fresh watermelon towards the end of fermentation allowing for a secondary field fresh fermentation to take hold resulting in a mildly tart wheat-forward ale with a crisp watermelon flavor with a touch of salt

Featherstone Fresh pours a hazyish, golden color with a small, long-lasting lacing head. The aroma has fresh watermelon notes. The flavor is fresh, natural watermelon, with a hint of salt and sour near the end. Good feel. Overall, a lovely watermelon beer, lighter and very refreshing.
