Brewed with maple sap foraged from the trees along Crooked Slough on Prairie Island, this stout spent eighteen months resting in bourbon barrels still wet with Vermont maple syrup. The result is a deep, velvety beer layered with oak, vanilla, char, molasses, and maple sweetness—an expression of the trees and waters that shape us, and the community rooted beside them.

Crooked Slough pours an almost black color, with no head. The aroma has fresh, real maple notes. The flavor has sweet, bourbony notes, lots of sweet and genuine maple syrup notes, and a hint of black licorice. The feel is a tad flat, but overall, it's fine.
