Emulator is a Doppelbock with imported Munich, Dark Caramunich and Melanoidin malts. Toasty bread, burnt caramel, and dark fruit are all on display in this strong, dark lager.

Poured a dark brownish (cola like) body with decent head and minimal lace. Mild aroma that I can’t seem to describe but I know I like it. Smooth, creamy, well hidden booze with a chewy malt base and taste profile that is like dark cherry and prunes and figs with nice, sweet boozy finish.

Enjoyed from the tap at the taproom.
This is a nice doppelbock, and one of the better examples I’ve had outside of Germany. Hits all the expected notes for the style. The Munich malt aromas are not as deep and immersive as some originals, but that’s only a minor critique. A very enjoyable beer.
