pours a nice robust copper color with a thin but persistent off white head. low visible carbonation, decent lacing.
Smell is caramel sweet and lightly roasty (somewhat malty, somewhat nutty). Notes of toffee as well as apple/pear.
Taste is malty and lightly bready. Crisp with tail end notes of apple juice. Nice subtle bitterness that keeps the predominant malt from cloying. Very smooth
Mouthfeel is pleasant, like a full bodied pale ale. Very creamy with a pleasantly crisp finish.
Overall this is a nice beer. Not exactly my favorite style as it leans a bit too malty but if you like lightish malty ales it's very pleasant. Nice clean crispness makes it very drinkable and the subtle fruitiness adds a nice complexity to the breadier malt notes.
