Brown Ale aged for a few months in Far North Spirits Roknar Whiskey Barrels. It comes out smooth with whiskey and vanilla flavors from the charred oak barrels.

Tap pour at Red Cow/Edina MN.
Very dark brown colored body, with mahogany highlights at the edges. Thin tan head, which reduces to a thin ring throughout. No lacing.
Dark roasted malts and whiskey barrel in the aroma. Slight nuttiness, some darker chocolate, and a whiff of vanilla also.
Very fudgy chocolate flavor, along with the whiskey barrel, slight coffee, some hazelnuts, and vanilla. Towards the end is a semblance of red wine, vinous flavor, that goes away before the after taste of chocolate, coffee, and whiskey barrel. Something here that reminds me of cinnamon in the middle of the taste profile.
Medium mouth feel, which is about right for a brown ale. Okay carbonation.
It is a little difficult to get a true taste appreciation with a bar tap pour because a darker beer such as this is always presented too cold, and it is not as easy to allow a warm up as when a beer is sampled at home. Overall, I think this is an okay beer, not outstanding but not awful either. Loaded up with lots of flavors for a brown ale.
Full flavor spectrum for a brown ale, with a bit of a bitter aspect at the end.
