Growler from Nine Pin.

This one pours a darkish brown color, with a small head and not much lacing.

This smells like the most chocolatey Oktoberfest I’ve ever had, with some breadiness too.

This doesn’t really taste bad, it’s just wildly too sweet and chocolatey for the style. There’s a bit of toasty bread, but not enough. Perhaps this wasn’t fermented long enough, or cold enough?

This is creamy, slightly crisp, and pretty drinkable.

This honestly tastes decent enough, but it’s a thorough miss style-wise.

Out of the 3 local marzens I tried (Wolf Hollow and Mad Jack) I have to say I'm glad I ended with a growler of this gem.

It's a more robust version of Mad Jack's with a hop bill that rises to the match. Amber-orange. Eggshell cream head--big and foamy--and clumping swaths of lace. Raw dough aroma, spent grain rolls, peaches, oat and sweet cream like salted caramel. Soft, rounded feel that influences a very mild dryness; medium bodied to a fault as it is very rich. Flavor has a hoppy spiced orange and citrus marmalade vibe lathered on leftover bread crust coasted on caraway. Peanut skins and minor floral notes bring me back to the quality of malt that drives this beer.
