Pint can in a snifter stout glass.
Pitch black pour. No head, thin tan film. Minimal spot lacing.
Strong roasted malt aroma with licorice, chocolate, and vanilla bean.
Flavors follow the nose with a hint of coffee, too.
As porters go, the body is the thick side of medium body. Notes of caramelized malt.
High in alcohol. Sweet and chocolate, desert like.

Appearance: Pours with a nice bubble show that delivers two fingers of beige foam perched above the jet black liquid; good lacing action
Smell: Rich espresso aromatics with milk chocolate tones underneath
Taste: Chocolate and espresso intermingle, with the lactose adding a softer dimension and a hint of vanilla; moderate bitterness, from the espresso, builds in the middle and all the elements are well-balanced into the finish
Mouthfeel: Full bodied with moderate carbonation; creamy
Overall: Really enjoying these New Anthem beers during my week at the beach; yesterday, an NE IPA wowed me and today, this beer stands out being as good as any non-BA coffee beer I have ever tasted

This beer is so good! Dark pour with 1/2 inch tan head that fades. Lacing rings the glass. The smell is roasted malts and STRAIGHT espresso coffee!! The taste is very coffee forward with nice roasted malts mid way with a bite in the back. The feel is perfect for the abv! Overall I am going back to the brewery to get more of this beer!
