Don't cal it an outrage, this style has been here for years. Quietly riding along underneath all the haze and waiting on its opportunity to strike, New Anthem's West Coast IPA pulls out all the class heavy hitters like Amaraillo, Centennial and Simcoe for a Dank, floral and citrusy session.
Hazy but reasonably so, Perpetual Outrage pours deep straw and burnish gold while building a fall and foamy white cap. As the hoppy scent of citrus, herb, spruce and lighter tropical fruit roll from the rim, the first taste leans in with the lightness of bread, honey, wafer and agave in a short but malty introduction.
Deliciously woven from those bitter hops, the middle palate shows a quick shedding of sweetness and a focus on citrus overtones of white grapefruit, under ripened oranges and a pep of lemon. With hints of pineapple, papaya and young apricot adding complexity and intrigue, the taste soon develops into a bitter late taste of torn pine needles, fresh cut grass and the dankness of hemp.
Medium bodied and residing on the dry and bitter side of balance, the ale finishes crisp, mostly clean and classically refreshing with a long and resiny aftertaste of pepper, botanicals and citrus rinds.

Cloudy, bright orange with a white head that leaves a cap and lacing. Orange and floral hops in the nose with some sweet malt. Sweet and orangey with some floral hops and caramel sweetness.

Can (4/12 Release)
Hazy golden orange with a lovely thick soapy head. Aromas of citrus fruits and green grassy herbs. Bright citrusy/floral hop flavor with a bit of sweetness in the finish - certainly has an old school feel to it. Medium bodied, somewhat low carb, but dry. Good, if kind of unexciting.
