Dark brown, nearly black brew from this big can, that even a gentile pour afforded an enormous head. Smells just like a porter, chocolaty at that, with candied fruit smell , and some roastiness,
I little more sweet stout in the flavor, with some breadiness, and roasted malts, maybe a twinge of rye, and quite smooth. Toasted malts tilt a bit towards burnt, but nothing that keeps it from being approachable. Nice hop support and noticeable alcohol as it transitions to a long finish. Sugar lingers on the tongue well past a sip is over. While I would not call it light, it is also not a hefty brew. I think of the style like Lion or Dragon, and it fits that mold of these more popular stouts, but both enjoyable, in a straightforward build.
Well crafted, and worth revisiting.

16 ounce can in a small tulip glass.
Near black brown with a dark tan cap. Little lacing as a result of the shared can.
Roasted malt and dark chocolate aromas.
Mostly dark chocolate malt with light brown sugar sweetness. No coffee.
Medium bodied, thickens as it warms. It’s abv fits nicely.
The sweetness works by staying with the chocolate malt rather than coffee.

Look: It pours very dark brown with a tan head. Head retention is very good.
Smell: It has a combination of sweetness and roast up front in the initial aroma. There are low coffee notes and a hint of dark fruits.
Taste: It is sweet with a roasted character with a coffee elements as well. There are some plum and dried cherry elements and a touch of citrus.
Feel: It has a medium full body with barley noticeable alcohol warming.
Overall, a sweet stout that is quite favorable with the elements working well together.

Black beer that was poured aggressively but only yielded a tiny cap of light tan head. Left no traces of lacing behind. Smells like roasted malt and sweet like burnt sugar/molasses. The taste is sweet roasted malt, dark burnt sugar and the finishing bitterness of molasses with a hint of citrus in there. It is a really good beer.
