16 oz can from brewery, some date code on bottom but not sure what it stands for.
Goose Island nonic.
Pours a golden caramel color with slight chill haze, and a butter-tinged head of 1 finger.
Aroma is a peculiar mix of sawdust, pine, and tropical island fruit vibes, almost like fruity pebbles. I can see they've mixed up some old school and new skewl hops here.
Flavor brings the same kind of mixture. Pine, sawdust, old toffee, banana, grapefruit peel, lemon peel, coconut, cream, and fruity pebbles cereal. The bitterness is a bit much, I'd say medium-strong. The IBU perception is on par with some Stone beers.
Feel is hard and carbonated, with scrubbing resins throughout. No sign of alcohol.
Overall, it's a well-brewed beer, but far too expensive and not enjoyable enough for me to ever return to it.
$24.00 for a 4 pack is fucking nuts.
$6.00 a can / New Anthem Brewery

16 ounce can in a beer glass.
Golden copper color with a thin white cap. Lacing is minimal.
Citrus and berry mix over caramel pale malt.
Orange, lemon-lime, mango and melon, and a touch of mixed berry flavors. Caramel malt.
Medium bodied with a gentle hop finish. Some sweet malt for balance.
Pale ale in origin. Hoppy yet not over the top.
