Pours a hazy golden yellow with two plus fingers of foamy head that slowly settles to a thin cap with some lacing. Aroma of grapefruit and citrus, a bit grassy. Taste follows nose.

A: Pours a very lightly hazy pale golden yellow in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising quickly from the bottom of the glass and moderate pale yellow + bright yellow colored highlights. The beer has a three finger tall dense creamy sudsy foamy bright white head that reduces to a large patch of medium thick film covering a little more than 85% of the surface of the beer surrounded by a large patch of thin film covering the remainder of the surface of the beer and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Slightly heavier than moderate amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Slightly stronger than moderate aromas of citrus/grapefruit pith + citrus/grapefruit pith + grassy + dank + vinous/white grape hops over the top of light to moderate aromas of biscuit + grainy + lightly toasted malts with a very light amount of grainy sweetness.

T: Upfront there are light to moderate flavors of biscuit + grainy + lightly toasted malts with a very light amount of grainy sweetness. That is followed by slightly stronger than moderate flavors of citrus/grapefruit pith + citrus/grapefruit pith + grassy + dank + vinous/white grape hops which impart slightly stronger than moderate amounts of lingering aggressive bitterness.

M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Crisp.

O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and a pleasantly crisp mouthfeel + aggressive bitterness. Enjoyable and definitely a throwback to the IBU wars West Coast DIPAs.

Appearance: Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a three finger head that leaves clumps of lacing

Smell: Vinous and grassy with a grapefruit pith edge

Taste: Very dank and grassy with grapefruit pith and aspirin tones developing; a high level of bitterness builds into the finish

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: Too much aspirin-like bitterness and not enough fruity character for my palate; a rare miss for me by New Anthem
