Purchased from The Blue Door for $6 as a 16oz can. Poured into a tulip glass.
L - Hazy cerise, topped with a one-finger sudsy pale pink head that goes away rather quickly. Fairly decent lacing.
S - Slight ethanol. A bit sweet. Canned cherry pie filing. Orchid.
T - Tart. Cheap Valentine's Day cherry lollipop. Getting that canned cherry pie filling again. Eases into another wave of an acidic funky tart, backed by sour cherry. Sweet & tart throughout. Finish is sweet, with a lasting flavor of red currant.
F - Medium-full in body, with minimal - if any - carbonation. A bit oily. Leaves a tart film on the lips. Relatively drinkable.
O - My expectations for this brew were a bit higher than I'd care to admit. The can is painted with a glorious monster of some kind (likely inspired by newer Cartoon Network styles, crossed with 60s funk), complete with a proper rear end on the other side of the can. The monster has a gold tooth. He's crazed out, and has a third eye. It's 8% ABV. It's hot pink! Everything about this can screams fun & funky, but this brew is a tough lesson in not judging a book by its cover. I think the concept hits pretty well for me - a funky cherry thing that sets the mood for whatever concert you're attending in the beanbag chair you brought along. It just doesn't go down that way. I figure if the ethanol note is turned down a bit and the carbonation is turned up a lot, then this beer would be going places. I'm subjectively a fan - so long as it's had ice-cold, and chugged with a few friends in a garage. Objective reviews are what I put out though, so I'm inclined to recommend you don't get this one if you see it. It was definitely worth a try, and I might purchase it again.
