Pint at Two Plumbers. Poured a clear brown color with golden highlights and a small, khaki-colored head of foam. It left sudsy trails of lace. It smelled of coffee, chocolate, toffee and some grassy notes. Sweet caramel, toffee and light chocolate flavors with a mild bitterness.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a deep brown color with a thick tan head and bits of lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate and nuttiness. Taste of roasted malt, milk chocolate, nutty with trace of coffee in the background. Mild bitterness, and a clean finish. Medium body, smooth and creamy without being overly sweet. Nice beer.

I sampled this one at the brewery, and am now doing the review from a small can crowler. It is a completely black beer. Slim, quickly disappearing head. The aroma is heavily roasted...intense, smokey, espresso-like. There is also some medicinal notes. The taste is similar...very roasty, slight off-flavor medicinal notes. It seems more like a homebrew than a professional beer. Balanced, Roasted malt flavor. Full in body. Could be much better.
