This is one of the best Marzens made in Minnesota this year. Right up there with Birch's.
Pours a deep, regal Mahoganey color..nice clarity....rich bready aroma...the taste follows the same with fresh breads, and a touch of toasted malts...love the taste of this..loaded with malt flavors....wonder what a bit more of a spicy hop accent would add?
Body is medium, drinks a little sweet..I'm all in on this though....very impressive version this year ('23)

Appearance: Pours a clear, bright medium to deep orange color with a strong white head. SRM of 12. (4.00)
Aroma: Moderate aromas of bread malt, baked bread, slightly meaty aromas. A little bit of black pepper. (3.75)
Flavor: Strong flavors of baked bread, toasted bread malt, smooth caramel to finish. Leans sweet. (4.00)
Feel: Medium-bodied, slightly under carbonated. Smooth. (3.75)
Compared to Lupulin Oktoberfest 10/5/22: Pours lighter, milder aromas. More toasty and bready flavors. Less orange citrus and smooth bread malt. Similar.
Compared to 3 Sheeps Oktoberfest 10/5/22: Pours lighter, milder aromas. More baked bread. Less toasted bread and caramel malts. Lighter and sweeter.
Overall: A pretty good Oktoberfest Marzen here. Nice bready and toasted malts. Leans sweet, could use a little more carbonation is my only critique, Smooth and malty. Nice flavors all around. Maybe deserves a higher rating, but couldn't find anything to differentiate this one. (Rating: 3.87))
