Not too many breweries are pumping out Scotch Ales these days so this was nice to see. This is one of two variants with the other a vanilla addition. Not sure if they have released the base Scotch Ale used for these but I'd like to try that.
I had the vanilla and it was good but didn't review it.
This one really comes across as a desert type of beer which I'm not a huge fan of but they have their place. They really nailed the Samoa cookie angle they were looking for. Smells and tastes that way. A lot of these places descriptions never match the actual beer but this one does. Total samoa cookie.
It's sweet and borders on cloying. I like the Scotch Ale base to this as its caramel like malts blends perfectly with the coconut and milk chocolate notes from additions (I'm guessing) to give it that Samoa cookie flavor.
Poured with a little head out of the crowler but then settled pretty flat and the body while medium full is lightly carbonated out of the crowler. Not sure how it is off the tap or in cans or bottles if they do that.
If you like desert style beers this is a good one.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
