Appearance: Pours a clear, dark bronze color with a massive off-white head. SRM of 20. (4.25)

Aroma: Strong aromas of wood, oak, buttery bread. Then a smooth bread and caramel malt with more wood oak and floral notes that linger buttery off the end. (4.25)

Flavor: Strong and okay flavors of bread, caramel and floral notes. Buttery bread a little banana as these flavors linger off the finish. Mildly sweet. (4.25)

Feel: Medium-bodied, strong carbonation. Finishes mildly sweet, but clean. (4.25)

Compared to Modist Unending 4/2023: Pours darker, similar head. Milder aromas. More buttery bread, oak, wood, and floral notes. Less brown bread and caramel. Heavier rand sweeter with more oak.

Overall: What a banger of a beer. A fantastic Vienna lager by itself but the wood-age adds so much to this one. Brown bread and caramel flavors but the wood age gives it an earthy and buttery flavor, almost along the lines of Pilsner Urquell. Apparently it's maple wood. Can definitely get some of those flavors. This one is unique and excellent. They made a gem of a beer. (Rating: 4.25)

Poured a very nice amber color and was capped by a massive manilla head which left decent lacing.
The aroma was all but lost on my nose, illness or chemical damage rendered my sniffer obsolete.
The taste leads with an almost warm, malty (more cereal than bread, it’s interesting) and the noble hops bring in some floral notes. Then the wood of whatever aging process they used comes in to play. I mean you can actually taste it, a fairly new experience for me.
The feel is excellent, just the right kind of viscosity for drinking.
Happy to have been able to try this, good beer.

Brewery description:"This lager rides the good line between tradition and innovation. Utilizing all German malts, Czech Saaz hops, and Augesteiner lager yeast, but co-fermented with locally made maple wood. The entire fermentation underwent slight transformation from the wood, complementing the beer with notes of honey, graham crackers, maple, and cacao. Crushable yet complex - a mainstay lager for the winter:

L-Deep bronze color...impressive clarity

S-Toasted malts...smells sweeter than a typical vienna.

T-Really nice maltness to this one....toasted malts but also a subtle sweeter richness....can't say I taste maple and woudn't expect to with the wood aging but it hasa light, enjoyable touch of sweetness.

F-5% ABV..would have guessed higher...drinks much richer than that...solid medium body on this..

O-Very enjoyable and recommended.

Taste follows the nose very nice wood barrel/maple mix along with malt and fruity hops closed with baked bread .
