Thanks goes out to cavedave for this brew.

My first District 96 brew!
Poured into a Squatters true pint glass a very nice hazy dark golden orangey color, very nice carbonation, with a very nice thick/creamy two-finger white head, which also leaves some nice sticky lacing behind. The nose is hoppy, with a nice maltyness, a really nice citrus complex (oranges, tangerines, grapefruit, mangoes, pineapple), nice diesel like. The taste is really nice, hoppy, malty, with a very nice citrus complex (oranges, tangerines, grapefruit, mangoes, pineapple), very nice diesel like. Medium body, ABV hidden very well, with a very nice dry/bitter finish. Overall, a very tasty brew. Addictive! Glad to have gotten a chance to try it. Thanks Dave!

Very, very good. I wanted more from the smell but otherwise it was outstanding. I am guessing on the hop profile but it tastes like it is dry hopped with galaxy which is what puts it over the top.

Head to head - I would drink this beer over most from Tree House and Hill Farmstead. Overall quite outstanding. Some of the beers from Hill and Tree are too syrupy for my palate - i feel the overall balance of this beer is better. At 8.7%, it packs a nice punch (two beer limit for me........... then i have to move to District 96 6.5% beers to sober up). Overall, District 96 has been a great addition to the Hudson Valley beer scene. What's nice about it is the name is still getting out there - so for now you can drink Tree House caliber beers without waiting 2 hours in line. Most beers are brewed in the New England IPA style. All their IPAs, DIPAs, and Pale Ales are consistently very good. Worth the drive to New City NY.

Pours a cloudy orange straw color with a big topper of dense off white foam that relaxes to a lasting skim and ring.
Full strength aroma that is chock full of mango, melon, sweet orange, lemon, grapefruit pith, crisp grainy sweet and lightest floral hints. Stupid complex, stupid alluring, just amazing bouquet.
Full flavored and then some, with all the flavors of the aroma making appearances in a supremely balanced and delicious presentation. It finishes with the sweet citrus joining some righteous pineapple that is the tiniest bit dry, super clean, and heavenly.
Soft on palate, but not in the way of many other NE IPA that can be so soft they clear out quickly. This baby is low carb, highly viscous, thick but not clingy, and a dynamite finish that lasts in the best way..
Highest recommendation for a beer that is as close to perfect as imaginable. Trying desperately to find something to ding but there is nothing. Hopefully you try this soon. i can't imagine it will last more than a few more days, and the ease of acquiring District 96 beers likely will also be a thing of the past in the near future.

I had this on draught at The Burger Loft. 12 oz. pour served in a tulip glass. It pours a cloudy, opaque, golden-orange color with a bright white head and extensive lacing that lasted through the pour. This is one aromatic beer! I could smell it the moment it was set down on the bar. Lots of mango, grapefruit, lemon, pine, and floral hops. The taste opens with a burst of sweet mango and pineapple, as well as lemon and grapefruit. It has a nice hoppy presence but it's not bitter and there is a pleasant hint of vanilla at the finish. It finishes dry and clean and the flavors blend very well. This ale is crisp and pleasantly carbonated and its 8.7% ABV gives it a nice pop. Overall, this is a delightful DIPA; well-balanced and tasty. District 96 has charged strong out of the gate. This is fine beer!
