Poured from fresh crowler into District 96 goblet. It pours an opaque honey-apricot color with a finger of foamy, bright white head and extensive and long-lasting lacing. The nose features dank onion, tangerine, grapefruit, pine, and floral hops. The taste is immediately piney and very bitter over a malt base. As the glass warmed, I tasted more and more of the sweet malt with a hint of caramel. There is some grapefruit but little sweet fruit in the taste. It finishes with a dose of bitter, biting hops. This one bites hard! For a DIPA, it has almost a creamy mouth feel, with moderate carbonation, and the 9.5% ABV is noticeable. Overall, this is a bitter DIPA with a lot of kick, and it is very, very good!
