Tasty NEIPA on the lower end of the spectrum at 6.5% ABV. Maintains decent body and balance between oaty wheaty goodness and juicy melon, kiwi, cantaloupe, and lemon meringue flavors without being overly tropical. No hops listed on the can (or on their site that I could find), but it is reminiscent of a Citra, Galaxy, and Nelson offering. Could be other NZ hops here like Motueka or Riwaka also, but you get the idea. End result is another strong offering from D96. Always reliable in the hazy game

For a modern American IPA, it's a good pour to empty a pint can's contents into a clear glass liter mug. There's a short-lived modest head that carries a tint of the brew's apricot-amber color. It's quite opaque. Only the brightness of its color keeps it from the murky designation. It's not at all fragrant, which happens when wheat and/or oats are used to soften the hop bite and mouthfeel. Is that, maybe, a hint of tropical fruit to reference? Thankfully, the taste brings much more enjoyment. Yes, there is a tropical fruit reference, but there's also a nice citrusy hop bite to it. That makes the finish crisp and clean. Yet, the hop bite isn't so pronounced that the lack of significant additional flavors from the body are greatly missed. Its body is just right, although there's no glass lacing to evidence it. Overall, it's a little short in layered flavors to be considered one of the greats. It is immensely enjoyable and many times, that's enough. The slight sediment at the bottom of the glass was a nice finish for someone that loves unfiltered beers.

Pours a light bright yellow color. Completely opaque and quite cloudy. Two finger sudsy white head dissipates steadily until it is completely gone.

Aroma has notes of peach, pear, mango, pineapple and some green hop notes on the back end.

Taste has immediate strong astringent bitter notes up front. There are notes of peach, pear, lemon, lime all on a canvass of cracker malts. Not very sweet at all - the defining character is the remarkable bitterness for a NE style IPA.

Feel is light, moderate yet prickly carbonation, with a very bitter, mostly dry finish.

Overall this is an interesting NE style IPA - the bitterness its quite strong for the style which will undoubtedly be appreciated for those who prefer the older style IPAs.
