District 96 Beer Factory

 

 

Pint on draught at Burger Loft. It pours a murky, dark tangerine color with a full finger of long-lasting, fluffy, bright white head and thick, creamy lacing; a very attractive pour. It has a fragrant aroma of tangerine, lemon, lime, mint, and onion, along with floral hops. The taste opens with tart, slightly sour lemon and grapefruit, along with white wine grape but as the glass warms there are increasing tropical fruit and berry notes. There is a dry, crackery malt in the background. This ale has a thick, creamy mouth feel with moderate carbonation. The website indicates the ABV is 7% but the menu says 6.5% Either way, it's very easy to drink. Overall, it's a rich, creamy NEIPA that is right in District 96's wheelhouse, although it's not quite as fruity as some of the brewery's other NEIPA offerings. But like its brethren it pairs very well with a Burger Loft mushroom burger.
