This hop profile of Simcoe, Idaho 7, and Citra, made a big splash of juice!! Intense notes of horned melon, breadfruit, and pawpaw fruit. Ends strongly with the signature D.96 snakefruit finish.

This was the first beer from District 96 that I was able to review on here, as I traded for this with a friend a few weeks back. Sure, this was an Imperial IPA but it was hazy enough that it seemed like a typical New England IPA as it went down as smoothly as one!
The pour to this was a murky gold with a bit more sediment at the bottom of the can than I would have liked but of course, this wasn't dated as has been the case with so many new brews that I've tried in recent weeks. Enough head topped this off as it slowly settled as the lacing left behind was soapy, splotchy, and concentrated just above the middle of my pint glass. Tons of melon and pawpaw fruit (as per it's description on Instagram) in the nose as this was quite dank on the nose and subtly bright at the same time. The taste was juicy, exotic, and strong in Idaho 7 as this felt a bit like Hawaiian Punch that was fermented. Breadfruit? More like bread as this full and chewy, which balanced out the hops and juice nicely, as the carbonation was hardly anywhere to be found.
The same could be said for the alcohol, which was here but only made itself known as I felt a bit of warming come over me as I was finishing this off. A few chunks of dark sediment were at the bottom and there was some residual hop burn that I could feel on my throat but in the end, this was an intriguing beer that had some exotic tropical fruits and syrupy slickness to it that were quite relaxing while leaving me wanting more, in terms of potential. I'd love to have this fresh and give it another go...

Looks like OJ in a glass with cascading splotches of white lace. Pine and citrus aroma...lots of oranges...lots of papaya and apricot. Earthy, herbal, tropical and citrus hop profile. Drinks like a breakfast consisting of a mango-banana smoothie with a caramelized grapefruit. Background of cinnamon grounds the tangy-sweetness of persimmon. Bitterness is smooth yet supportive buttress of passionfruit and pine resin. Dank papaya and light bready malt linger on the palate. Bold and interesting flavor profile. Also, it has that raw cannabis leaf character I've been digging lately. Ultra smooth feel with a tight citric outer rim giving it a med body. A bit over-carbed, it leaves quite a tickle.
