This was another beer that I traded for before I took off at the end of the summer, and finally got around to on this mild early autumn night. Sure enough, the typical snake fruit finish is here but the taste to this was quite different from what I was accustomed to from these guys, although this beer was just as enjoyable as anything else that I've had from District 96!
Not a bad pour to this as the liquid was a hazy goldenrod with very little light coming through, as plenty of head topped it off. Loads of lacing was left behind as the top two-thirds of my pint glass was covered with thick rings of lacing that easily bled down to the ones below them. I have no idea what buddha's hand is but the aroma must have contained that along with jack fruit, papyrus, hints of swamp water, and deep earthy Azacca as the taste was just as smooth, slightly sweet, and hauntingly familiar while being tough to exactly pinpoint. A hint of the jack fruit and soft citrus emerged in the aftertaste as this was full-bodied with a good amount of bread as the carbonation was spot-on as well.
Hard to detect any alcohol in this as I could have easily kicked back with another after finishing this off. Love the flag being on the can but once again, I wish there was a date on the bottom of the can so I could see this beer's age. While not as memorable or noteworthy as their more hyped offerings, this was fun to kick back with as it was a quality brew in every way. Worth a go once as a break from their more heftier fare!
