This was a collaboration between District 96 and Tin Barn that I traded for a few months back and finally got around to tonight. Love both of these breweries and was hoping for a bang-up job with this brew and although this wasn't outstanding, there was a lot to like here as this went down quite easily for something so strong...

The pour to this was pretty typical as the liquid was a muted, hazy goldenrod with a sufficient head topping it off. Aside from a few well-defined rings of lacing left near the top of my pint glass, there wasn't much of any suds left behind as I worked my way through this. Snake fruit, berry juice, tangerine cream, and booze in the nose as the taste was just as potent, dank, and exotic as the coconut really emerged on the palate once the fully warmed up. A bit of mango and much more coconut was present in the taste as this was tangy and tropical at heart with hints of toasted rind staying for the duration once the liquid finally went down.

Yeah, this was strong and yeah, the booze wasn't overt but I could feel this beer's heft well before I finished it off. A hint of jack fruit gave this the tang it needed as the coconut was plenty sweet and nearly enough to offset it's strength. No date was given on the bottom of the can although this was plenty fresh since it was released at the tail end of July. The snake fruit, as was with the case with so many other brews from District 96, was enough to save the day and give it a trademark finish, although this was much more than just a run-of-the-mill offering. It was good to review on here but given who had a hand in it's creation, this should have been a bit better than the sum of it's parts. Less booze and more subtle notes would have resulted in an excellent offering fully worthy of having both names on the label...
