Embarassingly bad for a brewery that can and has done much better, could not even finish the can. Threw the 4-pack away. Thin, under-carbonated, as close to flavorless as a dark beer can get. Tastes like it's been sitting in some backroom for a couple of years, meaning it has little flavor or aroma. Certainly not a porter. More like a pale imitation of Guiness?

Sampling a slightly cooler than cellar temp 16 oz can poured into my snifter. No datestamp on the can. Beer is courtesy of @Xerlic thank you!!
The beer pours a rich cola brown and sits as dark as a black coffee in the glass. A creamy dense beige head of about 1.5 cm foams up and fades to a sturdy edge layer and large island that remains throughout the sampling. No light is passing through the glass. I do get dense lattice when I swirl the glass or take a sip.
the aroma is rich, nutty hazelnut mixing with some cocoa powder and hints of roasted malt. Can the aroma smell creamy? I cant help but think of nutella with less sweetness here. I dont really get any hops and the ABV is hidden on the nose.
The first sip reveals a medium to light body with tingly and fine carbonation. The texture is smooth and the beer drinks very easy.
Flavor is less robust than the nose but is similar, with some dark chocolate and roasted notes followed by nutty hazelnut and a hint of sweeter chocolate and then the hazelnut is what lingers. Again no hop profile and abv hidden completely.
Easy drinking nutty porter. Worth a pickup if you like hazelnut!
