Traded for this last week as this was the first beer from District 96 that I've had in quite some time. This collaboration with Gearblock was quite the surprise as it wasn't high in D96's trademark snakefruit finish, but was every bit smooth, tasty, and light in heft as I've come to expect from these guys!
Plenty hazy, golden, and topped off with plenty of head, the lacing left behind was just as exquisite as the deep and well-defined rings of lacing were quite a sight to behold. Deep tangerine, cream, white grape and peach, and snakefruit were in the nose as the taste was sweet and creamy up front with more dewy forest emerging in the back. Balanced and nicely carbonated, this was lively without being brisk and felt like ice cream because of how persistent and lively the sweetness was. Plenty juicy and slick, only a bit of burn came into play as there was just a bit of sediment that settled at the bottom of the liquid.
That didn't have to do with this beer's age, as it was posted on Instagram only two weeks ago. Sure, I wish this was dated on the bottom but besides that, this was another quality brew from these guys that I easily fell in love with. It's description mentioned Hawaiian Punch and indeed, this felt like that minus the high fructose corn syrup. Murphy's Law states that if anything can go wrong, that it will but that wasn't the case with this as it was only fitting for the name. Everything was right with this as this was another winner from one of the best breweries in these parts!
