District 96 Beer Factory

Curiosity nipped me like a mosquito and I decided to try this concoction. The beer does look beautiful - i'll give them that. A very nice opaque peachy orange with a lingering head and moderate carbonation. The nose is another decent quality. A lot of ripe fruits and hop greenery. In the end this beer is proof that there is such a thing as too much. The alcohol really cuts into the taste in a detrimental way. It unbalances everything. And the mouthfeel really suffers for it - on top of already being heavy there is a notable burn to it. If you're someone who likes these massive, massive beers then maybe you might form a different opinion. Don't let me be a wet blanket to the hype. But I'm going to steer clear of them going forward, just not my preference.
