Dark amber to brown, clear when held to the light, pours with a medium size beige head that fades to a small collar and leaves some nice lacing
Caramel malts, chocolate malts, toasted bread, multigrain bread, plenty of smoke, smoked malts, caramelized sugars, hints of molasses and brown sugar, distinctive "ham water" experience of a rauchbier (complete with smoked ham, bacon, the taste of sitting in the parking lot of a BBQ joint, etc.), some minerality, very light sweetness, low bitterness, dry finish
Medium body, crisp, medium carbonation
Rauchbiers are quite the polarizing style, but if you like them, this is worth seeking out. I have had this a few times on tap and was moderately shocked to see I never review it. This is both an excellent example of the style and an excellent beer in general.

Bought a crowler at the brewery. The beer has a slight amber red appearance in the light to a mostly black beer. Light brown bubbly head at first but it disappears over time. Charcoal smoke aromas with a hint of brown sugar barbecue sauce, the taste follows the nose with a big hint of bacon and some booze. Medium mouthfeel, a little thick to help the flavors. Overall, a fantastic beer for this style!

Pours a deep brown, amber and mahogany. Some nice smoked meat and cheese aroma. A bit of sweet malt that pairs with a great smokey character reminiscent of smoked meat, specially ham, smoked gouda, and applewood bacon. It is smooth, yet wholesome. It's not thin. It is a beer that can stand up on its own or with food. It is rich smoked goodness.
