This Baltic Porter is fermented cold, then aged in our cellar for 12 months in a variety of bourbon barrels. Once blended, this beer is finished on vanilla beans and cocoa nibs.

500ml bottle served in a Speigelau tulip. Pours one shade shy of black with a frothy, quarter inch, mocha-colored head that quickly disperses towards the shoulders. Nose expresses big notes of malted milk balls with a kiss of spirits in the background. Taste is rich - flavor profile is dominated by chocolate fudge. Not much of the barrel is present other than some hints of wood and a some spirits deep in the background. Mouthfeel is light-medium in body with a mild, even carbonation. The barrel-aging is most evident in the mouthfeel in that some ethanol heat reveals itself and lingers at the back of the throat. Overall, a lovely Baltic Porter - rich and decadent.
