Second State Brewing

Rectangular room on a corner lot in downtown Cedar Falls. Street parking. Windows on two sides near the corner entrance. Red painted ceiling. Pastel green painted walls, and a concrete floor. Short bar with seven stools (with cushions and a metal back). Other seating at high and low tables and a window bar. Maple tops on the high tables. View of brewing equipment through a set of windowed doors. Twelve taps with an emphasis on standard Euro styles. Cooler offers cans to go. Cordial and prompt acting staff. Welcoming spot. There is an affiliated kitchen on site serving food.

A very new building and taproom, just off the main drag. Standard wood and dark, polished concrete floors, in a medium small room. The service was good and the beer was so-so, at best.

Small batch beer that is always fresh. Nick genuinely cares about quality and listens to your request for his next batch. His Double-IPA is awesome and he also makes one of the best Peanut Butter Stouts that you can find anywhere!! Growlers are fairly priced and the staff is always friendly. If you are in Cedar Falls, you definitely need to give Second State a try. The menu changes with the seasons and there is always something new!!

Recently opened brewery in downtown Cedar Falls. Clean and spacious, with gleaming fixtures and works by local artists on display. Seven taps featuring the current lineup, with flights and growlers available. Friendly wait staff, mellow atmosphere, and a pretty solid tap list. Be sure to stop in if you're in the area.

Craft beer done right. Nick has been in business for under a year but he has been brewing for a lot longer. Seasonal favorites that are sure to please. There is no food served so if you want to take a sandwich or a pizza in with you, they are good with that!! If you are in the Cedar Valley and want to try some truly AWESOME craft beer – stop in for a flight, a glass, or a growler!!!!
