Christmas calls for...cake! My first from this brewery and been looking forward to it. Pours syrupy thick midnight black. Collar takes time forming but then offers coffee crema beauty. Nose is quite complex here - roasted oats are at the front, buttery toffee centers, sweet cake finishes this one. Really a delightful creation here. Taste is equally complex - chocolate roasted almonds, balanced woody body and smooth finish here. At nearly 12% proceed with caution. This one works as standalone of course but equally well as dessert or shared. Complex and well crafted, oustanding.
