Disappointingly low carbonation on the pour. Like a Mexican wave, the head appears out of nowhere, only to mostly disappear again. The nose is nice, though I thought the maple syrup would add a more pleasant scent, as with Founders. But it's with the taste that they drop the ball. Yes, the carbonation is near none existent (blah), but the taste is bitter, along with an unwelcome companion flavour, something skanky. And this is more whiskey barrel than bourbon as well.
I don't know what they were going for here, but it's a fail. Drinkable, but not savory.
